Just over a year after his last release (The Kinks Choral Collection), Ray Davies is back with another new album. Again some re-workings of classic hits from The Kinks, the new album, titled See My Friends, is a collaboration album with many well-known artists.
A massive Kinks fan myself (what, really?) I am very excited as it features a few of my all time favs that haven’t cropped up for a while; a collaboration of ‘This Time Tomorrow’ with Mumford and Sons, “This Is Where I Belong’ with Black Francis and also ‘Better Things’ with the Boss, Bruce Springsteen. I was also surprised to see ‘A Long Way From Home’ on there, but another great song and I can’t wait to hear it.
The full track list is as follows:
1. “Better Things” – Ray Davies and Bruce Springsteen
2. “Celluloid Heroes” – Ray Davies, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora
3. “Days/This Time Tomorrow” – Ray Davies and Mumford & Sons
4. “A Long Way From Home” – Ray Davies, Lucinda Williams and The 88
5. “You Really Got Me” – Ray Davies and Metallica
6. “Lola” – Ray Davies and Paloma Faith
